At the major heavy tournaments the combatants have to submit a small, wooden shield with their device on it so the list can velcro them up on a board to show the parings and win/loss in a multiple elimination tournament. What if we start doing the same things at major light combat tournaments like Kingdom Protector or Baronial/Shire championships? Those that don't have devices would just write their name on a small shield and it might encourage more archers to register their device, especially if they know it is going to be displayed for the better part of an afternoon for folks to see.
Although light combat tournaments have always had an air of joking and fun associated with them, and I hope they always will, I have seen a drive towards making light combat tournaments more like their heavy counterparts, with processions, introductions and the like. I think a list board with the wooden shields would really add to the tournament and would be easy to implement.
